Clinical Hypnotherapy
Change your habits ~ Change your life
Any behavior that you want to change
can be changed with hypnosis.
Hypnosis is:
a very relaxed state where your conscious, or critical, mind becomes quiet. When the conscious mind is quiet, you can easily access the subconscious mind to review and change programs, routines and habits.
Background:
We all have programs running in our subconscious mind. These programs, routines or habits, are important to our daily lives and even our survival.
When a program is identified as being harmful or non-beneficial to us, clinical hypnosis can help you change it.
Our subconscious mind is similar to a high tech recorder. As we perform an activity a few times, we immediately begin programing our subconscious mind to do that activity automatically.
As a baby, walking involved a lot of thought. Now, after short time of developing some recorded, subconscious, programs, we don’t even think about what muscles to use and how to balance when we walk.
These programs, routines or habits, make us more efficient. Brushing our teeth, dressing, walking, driving...etc. are a few examples of programs that your subconscious mind uses to make us more efficient. Those activities have become “routine” or programmed.
How we handle conflicts and challenges:
Does a program that deals with how you look at food or how you treat your spouse, family or co-workers, prevent you from enjoying life?
Many such programs have been recorded and some no longer benefit you today.
What happens when a program is no longer beneficial to us? How do you stop it from running? How can you change it to something more beneficial?
This is where clinical hypnotherapy comes in.
In a relaxed (hypnotic) state, your mind is free to examine your habits and routines. It is during this relaxed state that new beneficial suggestions can over-ride the old programs.
While you are in a hypnotic state, you are completely aware of everything that is happening. You can not be made to cluck like a chicken - unless of course - it is something you want to do.
What is it like to be hypnotized?
Being hypnotized can be compared to having a guided daydream.
During a daydream, the events are vivid, interesting and controlled by you.
When a habit is no longer wanted, a daydream is created that allows you to review your current habit. All aspects can be safely looked at and changes can be made.
Just like a daydream, you are aware of everything. Since it is you that is doing the altering of a habit, you are the only one that can make a change.
